2024 A Year of Growth, Recognition, and Achievement at JCT600! 

As 2024 draws to a close, we’re taking the time to reflect on an amazing year of successes, promises kept, and progress madeIt’s truly been a year to remember - we’ve celebrated our people, reinforced our commitment to diversity and wellbeing, stepped up our recruitment efforts, and made some big steps towards delivering the best colleague and customer experience. Grab a cuppa and let’s take a look back at some of the key achievements that defined our year…  

 
Reward & Recognition - Celebrating Our People 

This year, we focused on making sure our colleagues feel valued and appreciated for the work they do, and contribution they bring! One of the highlights was the annual Long Service Dinner, where we celebrated the incredible milestone of colleagues who have dedicated more than 20 years to JCT600We’re proud to have more than 180 people who have dedicated so much of their time and effort to the success of our company.  

Not only this, in 2024 we launched our first-ever JCT600 Heroes recognition scheme. This nomination-based scheme gave colleagues the opportunity to recognise each other for outstanding contributions. The response was incredibleover 700 nominations were submitted, each shining a light on those who go above and beyond and make a real difference at work. We’re excited to host the event and celebrate our JCT600 Heroes in March 2025! 

 

Mental Health & Wellbeing - A Year of Support and Growth 

Supporting our colleagues’ mental health and wellbeing has always been a priority at JCT600, and 2024 saw us take even bigger steps to create an open and supportive workplace. We led from the front with ideas like ‘Choose Your Colour Monday,’ a campaign to ditch ‘Blue Monday’ in January and choose our own colour. This helped us all feel positive and bright right from the off! 

We also rolled out the first ever JCT600 ‘Walk & Talk’ eventthis created a safe space for colleagues to have conversations about mental health, while engaging in physical activity. These social events brought our colleagues together to help reduce stigma and promote a more open culture around mental health. 

This year, we were also proud to sign the Mindful Employer Pledge, reinforcing our commitment to creating an environment where mental health is valued and prioritised. On top of all of this, we trained even more Mental Health First Aiders across the business, ensuring that every colleague has the support they need in the most challenging times. 

Inclusion & Diversity - Embracing Every Voice 

In 2024 we’ve taken more exciting steps forward in making our workplace more inclusive and representative of the communities we serve. We launched the ‘They Said...’ campaignwhere we shared some truly inspiring career stories of our female colleagues, demonstrating the huge value they bring to JCT600. 

We also introduced our JCT600 Communities to provide a dedicated, safe space for our colleagues to have their voices heard and shape the conversations around how we can create a more inclusive environment at work. We are committed to giving all our employees an equal opportunity to thrive, and as part of this, we also became a Disability Confident Employer. 

 

Recruitment - Attracting Top Talent 

2024 was a year of huge progress in recruitment as we worked to attract even more talented individuals across the automotive industry. In May, we proudly launched our brand-new careers website, which showcases the range of exciting opportunities available, what life is really like at JCT600 directly from our colleagues and gives candidates a more seamless application process. 

We also visited lots of recruitment fairs across Yorkshire, we connected with potential candidates face-to-face and spread the word about the amazing opportunities we offer. One of our key recruitment initiatives focused on attracting more technicians to JCT600, a role crucial to the future of the business, and we’re excited to continue growing this talent pool. 

 

Colleague Engagement - Building Stronger Connections 

One of our proudest achievements this year has been the continued success of our colleague engagement efforts. For the second year in a row, we increased our OurVoice engagement score – this improvement gives us a clear indication that our teams are feeling more connected, involved, and motivated than ever before. Over 70% of colleagues completed the survey, leaving around 12,000 comments – this gives us lots of food for thought as we move into 2025.  

Giving all our colleagues the opportunity to have their say is so important to life at JCT600. To do this, we regularly hold Listening sessions, where colleagues from all parts of the business can voice their feedback and ideas – these sessions are open, honest and really useful in shaping life at JCT600On top of theseresetting our Culture as we moved through 2025 was a key priority, we developed and led out a series of Culture Sessions which gave colleagues the opportunity to engage with, understand and feel part of our shared vision. 

Our Managers Conference in March 2024 was another standout event, bringing together leaders from across the business to celebrate successes of the year before, share learnings and work together on strategies to continue improving every business and area within JCT600. 

 

Training & Development - Growing Talent from Within 

At JCT600, we are committed to investing in our people, and we’re not slowing down our focus on training and development – in fact, we know from our colleagues that it’s something that sets us apart! This year, we celebrated the achievements of colleagues who graduated from our various leadership training programmes for those aspiring leaders on Accelerate to Leadershipor those who are well-established on their journey on programmes such as Advanced Leadership, and Licence to Lead – weve supported colleagues at every stage of their development. 

We also welcomed over 100 new trainees and apprentices to the business, giving them the tools and opportunities to develop their skills and grow within the company. And to celebrate the success of our learners, we hosted our annual Gerry McIntosh Training & Development Awards, where we recognised the achievements of our rising stars, those committed to learning and the mentors across the business who have supported. 

 

Company News - Achievements Across the Business 

2024 has also been a year of significant investment for JCT600. We invested millions in opening brand-new car dealerships for Aston Martin LeedsRolls-Royce Leeds, Bentley Leeds, CUPRA SEAT Leeds, and JCT600 Approved South Leeds, continuing to expand our footprint across the region. 

Walso started major refurbishments across several of our dealerships, improving the customer experience to make sure our facilities remain state-of-the-art. 

We were super proud to win the industry acclaimed Best Customer Experience Award at the 2024 AutoTrader Awardswhich is absolute testament to our promise in delivering excellence in every aspect of our business. 

Our Ferrari Leeds Master Technician, Daniel Dawson, also earned a well-deserved spot in the top 3 of the World’s Best Ferrari Technicians for the third year in a row. This really is some achievement and shows the skill, passion, and expertise that our team members bring to their roles. 

Our Customer Service Centre had a standout year, winning three admirable awards at the 2024 UKCCF Awardswere extremely proud to announce that JCT600 placed in all three categories that we were shortlisted in: 

  • Best Contact Centre Workplace – GOLD! (making us literally the best UK Contact Centre to work in) 
  • Medium Contact Centre of the Year – SILVER! 
  • Best Employee Engagement Strategy – BRONZE!

Not only thatwe also celebrated the achievement of our very own Brand Director, Michelle Caveneyas she was recognised as the ‘Inspiring Automotive Woman of the Year’ at the Automotive 30% Club Awards, while VLS was named ‘Leasing Company of the Year’ at the Business Car Awards. Amazing individual and collective achievements all round!

Wow, what a read! Looking back on 2024, we couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve achieved together as a team. It’s been quite a year, full of growth, learning, and celebrating each other, hard work and the success this brings! We’re excited to keep building on this as we dive straight into the year ahead.
